The Complete UAE Sofa Buying Guide for 2026

Buying a sofa in the UAE involves more choices than ever. This comprehensive guide walks you through every step, from measuring your living room to delivery day.

Step 1: Measure Your Space

Before browsing, measure:
– Living room dimensions (length x width)
– Door and elevator widths (typically 90 cm)
– Distance from wall to wall for your preferred sofa size
– Leave 60-90 cm walking space around the sofa

Step 2: Choose Your Size

1-Seater: 80-100 cm wide – for bedrooms or accent seating
2-Seater: 130-160 cm wide – for small apartments
3-Seater: 180-220 cm wide – most popular UAE choice
L-Shape: 200-280 cm wide – corner sofas
7-Seater: 300+ cm wide – large families and villas

Step 3: Pick Your Style

Modern, Classic, Chesterfield, L-Shape, Recliner, Modular, Sectional – each suits different interiors and lifestyles.

Step 4: Select Material

Fabric, leather, velvet, or linen. Consider UAE climate, AC usage, and family situation (kids/pets).

Step 5: Set Your Budget

UAE sofa price ranges:
– Budget: AED 1,500-3,000
– Mid-range: AED 3,000-8,000
– Premium: AED 8,000-20,000+

Step 6: Where to Buy in UAE

Online vs in-store: Online retailers like Couchmart offer better prices and wider selection. Showrooms let you test comfort. Many UAE shoppers buy online after visiting showrooms.

Step 7: Delivery and Assembly

Check delivery options:
– Free delivery across UAE (Couchmart offers this)
– White-glove assembly service
– Time window availability
– Return policy

Step 8: After Purchase Care

Rotate cushions monthly, vacuum weekly, address stains immediately, professional cleaning yearly.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

– Not measuring doorways
– Choosing style over comfort
– Ignoring UAE climate
– Skipping warranty terms
– Forgetting delivery timelines
